Heading to NYC

Tomorrow, I leave for New York City from Tuesday through Friday night for work.  My coworkers and I are staying Downtown in a fantastic hotel near the Brooklyn Bridge, only minutes from the law firm we're going to be working at.  If I'm lucky, my hotel room may have a view of the Statue of Liberty.

Cooper1I haven't been to the Big Apple since my last date with "Anderson," the Anderson Cooper look-alike, a millionaire stock broker who flew me up there for a weekend ski date and sex-a-thon.

I'll be working my ass off, with very little time for checking out the city, but I'm excited about the trip nonetheless.

Please email me if you know of anything fun going on in SoHo, Tribeca, or Downtown Manhattan on Wednesday or Thursday night!  I will certainly keep you all posted on my "excursions."

your wish for a hotel room with a view of the Statue of Liberty most likely won't happen. Reason-the Statue is on the west side of Manhattan island and you will be on the other side. Thats what I remember of the geography of the city. I'm not a resident of the city.

I know nothing about downtown Manhattan lol. Even tho I've been here a while I've generally stuck with Chelsea, the West Village and Hell's Kitchen in terms of going out.

You could always just check those neighborhoods out, they are just a short subway ride away.

There's one 'c' in "Tribeca." Now you're a New Yorker!

My last comment sounds mean. That's because I'm only from Long Island, which is NEAR New York City. People FROM New York are pretty nice. I recommend a play on Broadway called THE SEAFARER. It's about a group of Irishmen playing poker. But one of them's the devil. It's funny and serious.

Hi there -- I usually go to NY about once a year. Chelsea is the place to hang out for the gay bars if you get a chance. I think "G" or G-Spot (cant remember the exact name is the best one...Barracuda is good as is GymBar. If you get the chance, eat at Pastis in the Village or Blue Water Grill in Union Square. My very favorite restaurant is El Faro -- a TINY Spanish restaurant in the Village. A good cabaret to go to is Rose's Turn in the Village if you get the chance. Another one is Don't Tell Mama just off Times Square. For a GREAT view, go to the Oriental Mandarian Hotel in Columbus Circle (at the edge of Central Park) and go to the lobby bar located on the 38th floor at around dusk. Incredible view of Central Park and the east side especially at night. Also the Top of the Rock is probably the very best view and it doesnt take long to get up there and back out. Best to go at sunset. Have a ton of fun and let me know if you able to do any of these things -- Shel

Vlada is my usual jam! Sunday's it is very weak. I have my favorite bartenders there... well, one is a "waiter" and one is my scrumptious and favorite bartender in NYC who shares my love of iPhones.

Therapy has been hit or miss but on Sundays it's always good. Happy you had a good time in NYC

I miss it a LOT!
